Pike Cty. Marine Dies In Action In Viet Nam

A Pike County, Ky., Marine has been identified as one of 22 servicemen killed in action in Viet Nam this week.

He was Pfc. Charles E. Osborne borne, 20, son of Mr. and Mrs. Troy Osborne of Myrna, Ky. who had been in the U. S. Marine Corps since August of 1964 and in Viet Nam since July of 1965. He was assigned to Company D, 1st Battalion of the Third Marines.

Born in Pike County on Feb. 5, 1946, he attended Dorton High School.

Surviving in addition to the parents are four sisters, Mrs. Everett Hamilton of Jonarey Ky., Mrs. Clyde Acree of Pinch W. Va., Hazel and Mae Alice Osborne, at home, and four brothers, Bruce, Ellis Eugene and Vester Osborne, all at home, and Troy Osborne, Jr. in Michigan.

The body will be returned to the Call and Son Funeral Home in Pikeville.
